Salary Left is built so that your financial information stays with you. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
We do not collect your financial data. The salary, expenses, budgets and recurring items you enter are saved only in your own browser (in its local storage) on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.
Accounts, cookies and analytics
There are no accounts or logins, and we do not use advertising or set cookies.
To understand how many people use the site, we use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that counts visits without cookies and without following you across other websites. It records only anonymous information such as which page was viewed, the website you came from, and your approximate country, browser and device type. It cannot see anything you enter into the app, and the script is served from this website's own address.
Your theme, language and currency choices are saved in your browser's local storage so the app remembers them.
Third parties
The app loads all of its code, styles and icons from this website, not from third-party servers. Like any website, the company that hosts it may keep standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) for security and operations. We do not use those logs to identify you.
Offline use
To work without internet, the app stores a copy of its own files in your browser's cache using a service worker. This contains no personal data.
Your data, your control
- Deleting: use the reset button in the app, or clear this site's data in your browser. Either permanently removes your entries.
- Backups and exports: files you download (JSON backups, CSV exports) are saved on your device. Keep them somewhere safe, since they contain your financial details.
- Losing data: because nothing is stored on a server, we cannot recover your data if you clear your browser data or lose your device without a backup.
Changes
If we ever add features that change how data is handled (for example optional cloud sync, ads or additional analytics), we will update this page first and make the change clear before it takes effect.
